Trusted by Australian Homes Since 2008

18+ years helping Australians protect their homes, poison-free.

Birds and insects don't get to claim what you've grown. The Tree Defender Drape Net is a breathable, ultra-fine mesh barrier that shields your fruit trees and shrubs from birds, possums, fruit flies, wasps and other crop-raiding invaders — no poisons, no sprays, no ecological fallout. Just a clean, physical barrier that lets your harvest reach you, not them.

Why the Tree Defender?

Most gardeners only act after the damage is done. We say: get in first. The Tree Defender goes on before pests do — after flowering,  before fruit flies emerge and birds start scouting. One drape, full protection, season after season.

Our Drape Net is ideal for installing across veggie patches, raised garden beds or across fruit bushes.

And because it's chemical-free, you're not trading your fruit for a toxic garden. Your native birds, bees and beneficial insects go about their lives — just on the outside of the net.

Key Features

  • Ultra-Fine Mesh (0.8–1mm) — Blocks fruit flies, snails, birds, possums and bats while allowing sunlight, rain and airflow through. Your tree breathes; pests don't enter.

  • UV-Stabilised Polyethylene — Built to survive Australian summers. Resists degradation, season after season.

  • Breathable & Lightweight — Fine mesh (high quality 20D mesh) won't snag on branches during installation. Easy solo setup. Allows sunlight, air, and water to pass through.

  • Two Sizes — Small (3m × 3m) for compact trees and shrubs; Large (3m × 6m) for bigger specimens.

  • Easy to Install & Secure — Featuring a convenient drawstring design, quick to adjust, stays securely in place without complicated knotting.

  • Zero Chemicals — No sprays, no bait, no secondary poisoning risk to owls, goannas or native fauna.

*For use over veggie patches, supporting poles or frame may be required.

Harvest Without Harm

Our netting is compliant with wildlife regulations across Australia, so you can protect your fruit while also protecting our native wildlife!

At EnviroBug we care about wildlife. Our fruit tree nets have a dense weave, which prevents entanglement of birds and animals and protects them from harm. In order to protect birds and animals from getting caught in fruit nets, it is important to use nets with a mesh size smaller than 1cm.

What It Protects Against

Birds (including currawongs, silvereyes and rosellas), possums, bats, fruit flies, snails, bees wasps and most crawling insects looking for a way into your crop.

Not designed for termites or ground-dwelling pests.

How to Use It

  1. Apply early — Before fruit sets, late winter through early spring.
  2. Drape over the canopy — Lay it over the tree and tuck or secure at the base to seal entry points.
  3. Check periodically — After wind events or garden maintenance, a quick check keeps the barrier intact.
  4. Reuse each season — UV-stabilised for multi-year use. Store clean and dry between seasons.
Tip: Stake or prop in windy spots to keep it from lifting.
