If you're looking for an ultrasonic pest repeller, then probably you’re already aware of these creatures called rats - infamous throughout the ages for infiltrating human homes and settlements, causing all sorts of trouble like damage to property, propagation of disease, and many more undesired effects that still plague people to this day.
Rat infestation in Melbourne (or any other city in Australia) can also potentially invite a host of other pests and parasites such as ticks or fleas.
Do you have any of these tell-tale signs of a rat infestation?
1. Rat droppings (feces)
One of the easiest ways to determine an active rat infestation is to be on the lookout for rat droppings. These are dark brown or black in colour and appear sausage shaped with pointed ends. Rat droppings tend to be concentrated in specific areas and indicate that a nesting or feeding area is nearby.
2. Scratching and gnawing noises
These creatures gnaw and scratch away on materials like wood in order to gain access to your home. If you hear scratching or gnawing noises (especially at night), then it could be a sign of an ongoing infestation.
3. Nests or burrows
Composed usually of fabric, paper, or dried plant all gathered up in a small area used as nests for these rodents. Spotting multiple nests across your house indicates ongoing rat activity.
4. Tracks or rub marks
Rodents leave trail marks. These may be smudge marks, urine stains, droppings, or rat footprints in flour. To help determine an active infestation, try placing a small amount of flour to form a thin layer across the floor or shine a light close and parallel to the floor.
